Yoshinoya to Install Anker Charging Cables at All Seats, Supporting up to 67W Fast Charging

News

Anyone who has felt the cold sweat of a dying smartphone battery while out and about will appreciate this. Japanese beef bowl chain Yoshinoya has launched an initiative to solve this exact problem, partnering with Anker Japan to bring fast charging to its customer seats, starting with locations in the Kanto region.

“Charge Your Stomach and Your Smartphone” Becomes a Reality

On October 10, Yoshinoya announced its plan to permanently install Anker charging cables at customer seats. The company aims to pursue a new level of convenience beyond its “tasty, cheap, and fast” motto by providing an environment where customers can charge their smartphones and tablets while they eat.

This initiative is moving to a full-scale rollout following a successful trial period in 39 stores. The company plans to gradually expand the service to approximately 220 stores throughout the Kanto region that are equipped with ordering tablets.

Up to 67W Output with High-Performance, Tangle-Resistant Cables

Each seat will be equipped with Anker’s popular “Anker PowerLine III Flow USB-C & USB-C Cable.” Featuring a silicone exterior, this cable is known for its unique softness and tangle-resistant properties.

A power strip housed inside a charging box at each seat will support fast charging with up to 67W of USB Power Delivery (USB PD), allowing users to efficiently charge compatible smartphones and PCs in a short amount of time. The charging box also features a magnetic cable holder, enabling the cable to be stored neatly and out of the way when not in use.

For busy people today, eating a meal and charging a smartphone are both essential daily tasks. Yoshinoya’s latest initiative is a valuable service upgrade that accurately captures the needs of its modern customers.
